1st XI vs Lymington 1st XI

Bashley’s 1st XI aimed to make a strong start to their league campaign before the rain brought an early end to proceedings at the BCG. After choosing to field, Bashley struck early through Louis Prichard, who delivered an excellent opening spell to take 3 wickets for just 29 runs, putting real pressure on the visitors. Alvin Cameron also bowled superbly, claiming 3–58 and removing key batters as Bashley kept themselves firmly in the contest.

Lymington’s Gareth Berg played a standout innings for his 130, with Lymington finishing on 236–8 from 50 overs, the game was nicely poised — but the weather had other ideas, and the match was abandoned before Bashley could begin their chase.

2nd XI vs Kerala 1st XI

Bashley 2s were sent into the field after losing the toss, though the skipper was more than happy to bowl first with rain looming. The opening pair of Xavier Deacon (7/0/15) and the evergreen Kevin Nash (7/0/30) were superb, giving absolutely nothing away and setting the tone with outstanding discipline. Backed up by excellent fielding, Kerala were held to just 25 runs in the first 10 overs.

Momentum shifted as their openers began to free their arms, capitalising on anything loose and building a strong partnership. However, 14‑year‑old debutant Nrupadh (5/1/24) broke the 123‑run stand with a composed spell well beyond his years.

Kerala reached 202/2 with 10 overs remaining before the rain arrived and forced the game to be abandoned.

Despite the weather ending things early, the Bashley lads showed real character throughout — the effort, attitude, and commitment in the field were exceptional from start to finish.

3rd XI vs Sway 2nd XI

Bashley 3rds put together a really solid effort at Sway before the weather brought the afternoon to an early end. Batting first in conditions that were never easy, the lads worked hard to reach 108–4 from 24 overs, with K Manning anchoring the innings nicely for his 27, supported by tidy contributions from C Vaughan, S Bellamy and J Bellamy. With the innings starting to settle and a platform building, the rain returned and the match was abandoned. It wasn’t the finish anyone wanted, but it was a good, determined showing from Bashley in testing conditions.

4th XI vs New Milton 3rd XI

Bashley 4ths showed plenty of fight against a strong New Milton side, who produced an exceptional batting display to post 351 without loss. Despite the scoreboard pressure, Bashley’s bowlers kept working hard throughout, with L Dirou, D Kemp, and J Worsfold all putting in committed spells against two in-form batters.

Chasing a big total, Bashley started positively with O Burton striking a quick 14 and P Kemp and D Kemp adding useful runs. However, regular wickets meant the innings closed on 78 all out, leaving New Milton deserved winners.

While the result didn’t go Bashley’s way, the team’s effort and energy in the field were encouraging signs. With lessons learned and plenty of positives to take forward, the 4ths will look to bounce back strongly next weekend.

We also welcomed T Beck and I Worsfold into the 4ths today, they played with great spirit and hope that they will carry on to play for us going forward.
