Bashley won the toss and elected to bat first in cold, damp overcast conditions.

Openers Luke Stubbington and Tom O’Sullivan started well and gave the innings a brisk start until Stubbington was LBW for 16. O’Sullivan was starting to score freely when he too was LBW for 31.Graham Pardey and Ryan Taylor continued the momentum and they were threatening a big score when Pardey was bowled for 30. Taylor’s excellent innings ended shortly after when he was run out for 55. The loss of another two quick wickets, including Scott LBW for 15, reduced Bashley to a precarious 157 for 6 after 37 overs. Tom Saunders (31 not out) and Chris Gates (24) then came together for a vital 70 run partnership. After a cautious start, they scored freely and by adding 46 runs in the last 3 overs, they took Bashley to a challenging 227 after their 45 overs.

After tea, Tom Harris (0 for 6) and James Edmonds (2 for 20) both bowled excellent opening spells to restrict Bishops Waltham to 33 for 2 of 13 overs. Tom Saunders took a wicket in his opening spell as the batsmen continued to struggle. Young Sam Presland with an excellent spell of 3 for 18 cut through the Bishops Waltham middle order to put Bashley firmly in control. Tom Saunders then returned to mop up the tail and complete his excellent match with figures of 5 for 26. For Bishops Waltham, only Wymbs with 30, made any significant score as they were all out in the 41st over to leave Bashley the comfortable winners by 101 runs.
