Bashley (Rydal) II 171 for 8
Fawley 174 for 4

Bashley lost the toss and were inserted at the BCG and struggled against an accurate attack losing early wickets with only James Turner showing the required application to resist a big shot as they struggled to 76 for 6 in the 29th over. Once again Sam Stroud was able to play his natural attacking game and took the score to 110 before Turner was eventually dismissed for a solid 51 from 107 balls. Neil Taylor (17) then joined Stroud in an unbeaten stand of 35 to take the score to a respectable 171 from their 46 overs with Stroud striking an impressive 50 from 57 balls including 3 fours and two sixes.

The home side knew they needed early wickets if they were to be able to defend this modest total but the visitor’s tactic of promoting Kadyan (35) to opener paid off as despite lots of playing and missing their openers added 65 in 13 overs before Tom Saunders (1 for 16) had Kadyan well caught by keeper Pat Lewis. Taylor (1 for 26) bowled tidily but without much threat and Sam Kennett (1 for 34) caught and bowled the dangerous Munir to leave the game balanced at 113 for 3 off 24 overs. Opener Kieran Earl , who like Turner played the perfect anchor role , was joined by Crossley (23) who played positively to take the score to 170 before being trapped lbw by Stroud (1 for 35). Fittingly it was left to Earl to hit the winning runs to finish unbeaten on 66 from 113 balls as Bashley suffered their second defeat of the season.
