After the wash out of the previous week, the Second XI started the season away at Trojans.

Trojans won the toss elected to field and quickly showed that was the right decision with Bashley at 10-2, losing both openers. Alex Turner came in at number three, but saw wickets full around him, with Phil Morris and George Pardoe unable to make it to double figures. Saif Achakzai was run out for 14, leaving Bashley at 90-5. Things didn’t improve, and wickets regularly fell, leaving Alex Turner not out, running out of partners in the 36th over.

Trojans started their innings strongly, and Bashley’s bowling was below par with 46 extras conceded. An opening partnership of 114 was broken when Syed Agha (39) was caught of Matthew Wright’s bowling, but Trojans raced to victory in the 24th over.

Trojans picked up 22 points, with the Second XI taking home 1 point.
