Bashley struggled from the outset after being asked to bat, losing five wickets with just one run on the board. George Pardoe (26) and Louis Prichard (17) provided some resistance in the middle overs, but St Cross maintained tight control throughout. Compton & Chandlers Ford CC claimed a 49‑run victory after posting 275 all out, before restricting Bashley (Rydal) CC to 226/9 in their 50‑over chase.
Batting first, Compton built a strong total around Alex Spearing’s excellent 79, supported by Will Fisher (36), Scott Spearing (34) and George McCarthy (29). A late burst from Ranveer Jassal (33 off 20) added further momentum. Bashley’s bowlers worked hard, with Nrupadh Mahesh (3–48) and Louis Clayton (2–60) taking key wickets, though 47 extras — including 41 wides — boosted the home side’s score.
In reply, Bashley made a determined effort. Kieran Pardey (65) and Phanee Valluri (53) put together a solid partnership at the top, keeping the chase alive deep into the innings. Batting first, Bashley were led by an excellent innings from Torquil Deacon, who made 71 from 99 balls, mixing patience with power. Neil Taylor (28) and Kevin Nash (43) added important contributions through the middle overs, while late runs from Will Manning (13 off 5) and Simon Bellamy (13)* helped push the total to 229. Parley’s attack was spearheaded by Harry Mallalieu (4–35) and Toby McKinlay (3–40), who claimed seven wickets between them.
Parley’s reply began steadily, anchored by Jonathan Rake, who compiled a determined 50 from 92 balls. Suttoners, batting first, were held to 94 in 37.5 overs, with Steve Lawson carrying the innings through a patient 31 from 132 balls. Wickets fell regularly at the other end as Bashley’s bowlers maintained tight control.
