Bashley (Rydal) 2’s continued their good run of form with a convincing 70 run victory over Purbrook at the BCG. Captain Andrew Neal elected to bat first after winning the toss and although they lost their first wicket with the score on 14 Tom Gates in partnership with Tom o’Sullivan took the total onto 148 when Gates was well caught on the boundary for a fine 80. Six runs later Phil Morris was dismissed for 3 but A. Neal with 24 from 21 balls and O’Sullivan had a 46 run partnership to reach 200. After he had scored a patient 72 O’Sullivan was run out with the score on 217-5 but with some lusty blows the Van Wyk brothers adding some quick runs with Jay scoring 25 off 16 deliveries and Pierre hitting 12 from 9 the Bashley innings closed on 269-9.

The Purbrook reply was soon in trouble as Kevin Nash trapped J. Holder lbw for a duck in his first over and with Jake Lilley (1-53) bowling the other opener M. Lee for 2 Purbrook were 6-2, Nash then had S. Figgins (3) caught by Neil Thurgood quickly followed by having B. Mengham well caught by keeper Patrick Lewis for 12 to finish with figures of 3-23 and the visitors were 44-4. Pierre Van Wyk was introduced into the attack with immediate effect as he took two quick wickets and Purbrook were 56-6 . B. Nel (48) was superbly caught by Phil Morris in the slips off another Van Wyk delivery  who finished 4-45 and with Tom Gates (1-22) having A. Dean caught for a duck followed by P. Van Wyk running out last man J. Gurney for 26 the innings closed on 199 all out in the 44th over.
