Bashley (Rydal) 3rds 258 for 9
Langley Manor 2nds 238 all out

Bashley 3rds travelled to Langley Manor and on losing the toss, were asked to bat first on a green looking wicket after the recent rain.
Tom O’Sullivan and James Underwood gave Bashley an excellent start with O’Sullivan in particularly aggressive mood. They had taken the score to 96 after 18 overs when O’Sullivan was bowled for 56. Underwood then started to accelerate but wickets fell steadily at the other end. When Underwood was eventually bowled for an excellent 79, Bashley were 167 for 5 after 32 overs. Valuable contributions from Sam Scott (18), Chris Gates (40) and Sammy Laurent (28) gave the innings a late impetus. This ensured that Bashley reached a challenging 258 for 9 after their 45 overs. Noble (4 for 50) was the most successful Langley Manor bowler.

After tea, Langley Manor made an explosive start to their innings. They had reached 65 after just 7 overs when Jerram (43) was caught behind by Chris Gates off Toby Mills first over. Langley continued to score freely against all the Bashley seam attack with only Mills’ off spin able to slow the rate. Rogers was looking very dangerous before he was run out by a direct throw from Seff Achakazi for 43.Mills bowled an excellent spell of 4 for 42 in his 9 overs to keep Bashley in the game. Achakazi (2 for 53) dismissed Shepherd (31) and Smith (28) as Langley continued to score freely and reached 181 for 7 after only 25 overs. A Dan Hart run out seemed to put Bashley in control but a 9th wicket partnership between Hatton (26) and Terris (17) kept Langley in the match. Sammy Laurent (2 for 37) then returned to take the last 2 wickets to leave Bashley as relieved winners in the 38th over by 20 runs.
