Bashley hosted Liphook & Ripsley in the second round of the T20 cup on Sunday afternoon. The away side won the toss and decided to chase on a warm day at the BCG.

After losing an early wicket, Sam Kennett (11) and Zach Millar put on 29 runs before Millar was bowled 19. This started a middle order collapse leading to Bashley being restricted to 58-5. Tim Taylor and Simon Watkins (10) looked to rebuild the innings in a crucial 45 run stand before Watkins was given out LBW to the bowling of Harry Munt. Tim Taylor made a very valuable 41 runs and with the help of Patrick Lewis (17), Bashley managed to post a total of 139-9 from their 20 overs.

Liphook & Ripsley got off to a flying start, putting on 52 within 5 overs before Mitch Wilson bowled the dangerous George Neave for 14. Grant Rouse then joined Harry Munt in the middle and by the 9th over, Liphook were very well placed at 88-1. Sam Scott (3 overs 1 for 17) had Grant Rouse given out LBW for 22. Sam Presland was introduced from the pavilion end and delivered a spell that would turn the game around for the hosts. Sam Presland returned figures of 3 for 16 from his 4 overs and with Scott bowling tightly from the other end, Bashley were back in the game. Simon Watkins (4 overs 3 for 16) came back into the attack and bowled with great accuracy and picked up 3 wickets in his last 2 overs conceding only 1 run. This left Tim Taylor and Simon Ridley 16 runs to defend in the last 2 overs. Bashley ended up winning by 4 runs in a very close match.

Bashley are now through to the quarter finals of the T20 cup!
