Bashley Broncos into Indoor Cup Final

Bashley Broncos took on Scared Shotless in their semi-final of the indoor cup on Sunday evening. Bashley, having won the toss and electing to bat, got off to a poor start losing Phil Morris first ball of the game. Mike O’Sullivan (32) and Simon Morris (32) then batted well very well together with both men retiring. Jack Ransom (21) then added valuable runs before being caught and bowled. Bashley finished their innings strongly thanks to Sam Scott (50) making an impressive half century. The innings closed with Bashley all out for 158.

Ironically, Scared Shotless came out all guns blazing striking 3 maximums in the first couple of overs but the Bashley bowlers kept it tight restricting the opposition to 67 runs from the first 6 overs. Bashley then took 2 wickets for just 2 runs in the next two overs thanks to the bowling of Jack Ransom (3-0-30-1) and Jason Eede (3-0-24-0). After this, Scared Shotless were chasing the game. Phil Morris bowled very well at the death (3-0-27-0) and the innings finished on 115-2 from their 12 overs.

Bashley are now in their second final in three years and are hoping to go one better this time around. Bashley will take on Poole Town in the final at Hurn Bridge on Sunday 23rd April with the game starting at 5.25pm.
