Bashley (Rydal) 3rds 160 for 9
Verwood 1st 136 for 8

Bashley 3rds travelled to Verwood and on winning the toss elected to bat first. It soon became evident that scoring runs would be difficult on a dry wicket with variable bounce. The top order struggled but Saif Achakazai was scoring freely until he was bowled by a ball that kept low for 26. Wickets continued to fall and after 30 overs, Bashley were struggling at 80 for 6. Chris Gates and Jack Harris then steadied the innings with a valuable 35 run partnership until Gates was caught for 19. Jack Harris continued to bat well until he was caught for 28. Valuable late order runs from Sammy Laurent (11) and Tom Harris (18 not out) finally got Bashley up to 160 for 9 after their 45 overs.

After tea, Verwood also found batting to be difficult against the Bashley opening attack of Dan Hart (2 for 28) and Tom Harris (1 for 37). They had struggled to 38 for 3 after 14 overs and then run scoring became even more difficult as Bashley took pace off with excellent bowling spells from Sam Scott and Louis Prichard. Verwood skipper Charlie Gajic looked dangerous until he was LBW to Prichard for 23. However further wickets fell to Scott (2 for 18) and Prichard (2 for 14) as Verwood tried to increase the run rate. This left Verwood facing defeat at 91 for 8 after 37 overs. Despite a late cameo of 38 not out from Scott McLeonards, Verwood finished on 136 for 8 to leave Bashley the winners of a fluctuating match by 24 runs.
