Bashley 3s welcomed Shanklin to a damp BCG in a top of the table clash with both sides boasting 100% records.

Bashley won the toss and asked to field first. This decision looked wise when Bashley took 2 wickets with on a single run on the board. Bashley failed to capitalise on the start and some sloppy bowling and fielding lead to Shanklin reaching 100-3 in the 24th over. Bashley then took two quick wickets after some pressure was built through Sam Scott (9-2-22-1), Mike O’Sullivan (7-0-26-2) and Toby Mills (9-0-31-2). Shanklin then added several partnerships to eventually being bowled out for exactly 200 in the final over when Tom Harris took his third wicket.

In reply, Shanklin got the new ball moving and had Bashley in all sorts of trouble at 17-5. From here, the target of 200 was never in danger but some fight from the lower order lead to Bashley eventually being bowled out in the 31st over for 90. Saif Achakzai was the pick of the Bashley batsmen scoring a well fought 26 in challenging conditions against good bowlers.
