Bashley (Rydal) 3rds 151 All Out
Locks Heath 1st 112 All out

Bashley 3rds won the toss and elected to bat first when they travelled to play 2nd in the table Locks Heath. They lost a wicket to the first ball and were in deeper trouble at 7 for 2 at the start of the 3rd over. They had started to recover but in an eventful 10th over, Gardner (4 for 25) had Achakazai caught behind for 24. He then proceeded to take an incredible 4 wickets in 4 balls with Ryan Taylor, Louis Prichard and James Edmonds his other victims to leave Bashley struggling at 36 for 6. Sam Scott and Chris Gates then steadied the innings with a crucial 48 run partnership in 20 overs. Gates was caught behind for 17 and Sam Scott caught and bowled for a valuable 41. A late order flurry of runs from Dan Hart (35) ensured Bashley an extra batting point as they were all out in the final over for 151.

After tea, Locks Heath lost a couple of wickets to Dan Hart (1 for 20) and Toby Mills (1 for 16) but they seemed to be well placed for victory at 75 for 2 after 19 overs. The introduction of 13 year old off spinner Louis Prichard completely changed the game. With a wonderful spell of 6 for 22, he caused a Locks Heath collapse as they subsided rapidly to 112 all out. He was well supported by Sam Scott who completed a fine all round performance with 2 wickets for 20.

Louis Prichard – 6 wickets

This 39 run win moved Bashley to the top of a tightly contested County Division 3 South as they enter the final month of the season.
