Bashley 3rds travelled to Langley Manor and on losing the toss, were asked to bat first in the overcast conditions.

Ryan Taylor and Tom O’Sullivan made an explosive start and had raced to 43 off the first 5 overs when Taylor was bowled for 19. O’Sullivan continued to score freely until he was caught and bowled for a rapid 46. Graham Pardey and Arno Hattingh built on this good start until Pardey was caught for 33. Hattingh continued his recent good run of form with another fine innings of 67. Late order flourishes from Sam Scott (16) and James Edmonds (21 not out) took Bashley to a challenging 256 for 8 after their 45 overs.

After tea, James Edmonds (2 for 31) struck with an early wicket but Langley Manor made a positive start to their run chase. Michael O’Sullivan (1 for 30) dismissed the Langley Manor skipper Cresswell for 29. Sam Scott bowled an excellent spell of 3 for 28 to remove the Langley Manor middle order. He was well supported by Sam Presland (1 for 23) and Jack Ransom (2 for 40) as the Langley Manor innings faltered. Wicket keeper Chris Gates excelled with two sharp stumpings and a catch behind. A slick throw for a run out by James Edmonds and a smart one handed catch by Ryan Taylor were other highlights of an excellent all round team performance by Bashley. This ensured that they ran out comfortable winners in the end by 82 runs and remain in fourth place in the league with one match of the season remaining.
