Tichborne Park 229 for 8
Bashley (Rydal) II 230 for 6

The visitors won the toss and made first use of another Bashley Road shirt front putting on 25 before James Underwood took a sharp catch in the gully to dismiss Bristow. Simon Morris (1 for 39) trapped Jess LBW before Ed Primmer (83) and Dedman added 59. Neil Taylor (2 for 25) removed both batsmen in a tidy ten over spell to reduce Tichborne to 115 for 4 from 27 overs. The experienced Cheyney joined the hard hitting Ayling (44) in a 73 run stand before Sammy Laurent (2 for 57) had Ayling caught at long off. The impressive Sam Stroud (3 for 30) returned to the attack to remove Cheyney (38) and the innings closed on 229 for 8.

The home side lost Tom O’Sullivan in the first over but the consistent Alex Turner and Underwood (16) added 48 for the second wicket. Turner (34) fell soon after and when brother James was caught Bashley were 83 for 4 from 25 overs. Chris Ridley (19) joined stand-in captain Phil Morris in a 57 run partnership in just 10 overs to put the result back in the balance before Ridley miscued a full toss to mid-on. Phil Morris passed 50 and brother Simon was bowled for 1 before Stroud arrived at the crease with 85 needed from 13 overs. He then proceeded to completely dominate the Tichborne bowling with a brilliant display of power hitting as he smashed 10 fours and 2 sixes in a 38 ball unbeaten 68 and with Morris content to play second fiddle in making 73 from 98 balls including 8 fours the home side continued their unbeaten start to the season with three and a half overs to spare.
