Bashley (Rydal) travelled to Andover for their British Gas Premier League game and on winning the toss Bashley captain Michael Porter had no hesitation in asking the hosts to bat first and his five man seam attack blew the Andover batsmen away to skittle them out for 106 in the 32nd over. Tom Barber started the demise in his first over clean bowling the Andover skipper Glyn Treagus for a duck and quickly followed this by trapping S. Green lbw for 8. Kevin Nash (1-29) then had D. Watson (0) well caught down the leg side by wicketkeeper Chris Ridley and Andover were reeling at 10-3. W. Arnold and Sri Lankan C. Karunaratne then had their best partnership taking the score onto 53 when Barber struck again having Arnold caught by Porter for 23. 4 runs later the dangerous Karunaratne was superbly caught by Phil Morris in the slips for 22 off Bradley Currie (1-11) with the total on 57-5. After Mitch Wilson (1-15) had bowled H. Blackburn for 9 Simon Ridley was then introduced into the attack and produced a wonderful 2 over spell in which he returned figures of 2-2-0-3 to leave Andover on 106-9 at the lunch interval. With the first ball after lunch Barber bowled top scorer Matt Knight (37) to finish with 4-33 off 9.1 overs to leave Andover 106 all out.

Tom Barber – 4 wickets

The Sri Lankan C. Karunaratne (2-31) bowled a lively opening spell in which he dismissed both of the Bashley openers firstly Tom Gates well caught in the slips for 16 followed by Josh Digby (4) also caught this time by the keeper D. Watson but these were the only wickets to fall as Michael Porter and Patrick Page made light work of chasing down the required total with both playing great shots all round the wicket with Porter being 34 n.o. and Page with 47 n.o. off 28 balls seeing Bashley home in only the 16th over.
