The first team finished their season with an emphatic 70 run win over South Wilts thanks mainly to a fine all round contribution from James Manning who held the innings together with a well constructed 66 out of 198 (Callum Maher 27).
The visitors were never in the hunt as Matt King (3-38) and Kevin Nash reduced them to 60 for 5.Manning then worked through the lower order to take 3 for 26 and secure the win which saw the side finish a disappointing sixth overall.

Having batted first on a damp surface at Alton the first team posted 165 (Glyn Treagus 39,Richie Armstrong 28) but were unable to avoid a surprise four wicket defeat despite Matt King's 3 for 42.The second team ended their season with a last ball one wicket defeat at the hands of Bournemouth.Chris Vaughan's maiden SEPCL half century and Gavin Bailiff's 39 were the highlights of the Bashley innings of 196-7.Vaughan also produced his best bowling figures of 4 for 20 as the defeat saw the side finish sixth once again.

At the tender age of 15 young Jake Lilley has been selected to play for the Hampshire Academy side playing in the rearranged Southern Premier League game against Hursley Park on Sunday. Good one Jake!

Super Saturday saw all 5 senior teams win for the first time this year. In an astonishing about turn in performance the first team beat league leaders Totton & Eling by 31 runs thanks to an impressive 109 by Glyn Treagus with the bat who also finished with bowling figures of 10 overs, 7 maidens and one wicket for 9. The second team beat Portsmouth 2 by a comfortable 4 wkts thanks to a career best bowling return of 7 for 40 by veteran seamer John Whiting and Calum Maher's 41 no and 36 from Andy Neal. The third team thrashed Swan Green by 10 wickets (David Morris 6-30) to remain unbeaten whilst the Fourth and Fifth teams also enjoyed comfortable victories over Fawley (Phil Morris 67) and Hordle Village.

Bournemouth rack up 317/7 at the BCG with Kevin Nash outstanding in taking 5 for 89 in 21 overs.Yet again the batting fails to fire and only Max Waller (32),Richard Knowles (31) and Richard Armstrong (30) come to terms with the bowling as the firsts suffer a massive 168 run defeat.The 2nd team get back on the winning trail with a comprehensive 7 wicket win at Totton & Eling.Skipper Lilley's gamble of inserting the home side on the hottest day of the year paid off as Andy Neal took 4 for 20 as T&E were skittled for just 114.Neal (30 no) and Gavin Bailiff (24 no) completed the formalities to lift the side into 6th place.

The Club lost to Havant in the Final of the ECB Southern Electric Premier League Cup Final last night at the Rosebowl. Havant posted 130 in their 20 overs, starting at a rapid pace following some loose bowling by Bashley, but pegged back by Glynn Treagus and Paul Cass with Matt King picking up 3 for 6 in 2 overs at the end. Havant bowled well from the start and made runs difficult to come by. The Club finished on 118; 13 runs short despite a valiant effort by skipper Andy Sexton and Glynn Treagus.

With the first team fixture at Hursley cancelled due a waterlogged pitch the second team found themselves up against virtually the entire Hursley first XI in the Div 3 encounter between the two clubs.Not against the rules but surely not within the spirit of the game.Matt King (29) and Shaun Lilley (24) plus 37 extras saw Bashley post 144/9 on a damp wicket.John Whiting took 4 for 28 to put the skids under the visitors but a couple of vital dropped catches allowed Hursley to claim a narrow one wicket win and keep their chances of staying up alive.

Glyn Treagus (76) and Chris Jones (46) see the first team post 188 at Havant which looks like a winning score as the home side slump to 152 for 9 (Treagus 3 for 40).However a last wicket stand of 37 snatches victory from their grasp and condemns them to their third consecutive defeat.The 2nd team plunge to 17 for 4 against table topping Hook and Newnham but Gavin Bailiff (41) and Chris Vaughan (32) see the final score reach 179 for 9.At 101 for 2 the visitors were clear favourites but tidy spells from Neil Taylor (3-28) and Ross Grierson (2-27) contributed to an excellent 11 run win.

With the groundstaff getting up very early and making great efforts to get the game on the first team, having dismissed St.Cross for just 163 (Glyn Treagus 5 for 24),waste their chance of victory with a poor batting display as they are shot out for 131 (Dan Friedman 39).The 2nd team dismiss Hartley Wintney for just 160 with veterans Neil Taylor (4-27) and Matt King (4-34) doing the damage.At 68 for 6 defeat looked likely but Andy Neal (52no) and Ross Grierson (40no) batted superbly to secure a much needed victory.

The first team game at Southsea is cancelled due to heavy overnight rain but the 2nd XI game at home to Gosport survives thanks to the use of covers!.The game ends in a thrilling tie on 213 in front of a large crowd as Richard Knowles improbably takes the match saving catch at mid-on just as the visitors looked set to steal a win.Earlier Callum Maher made 49 and Chris Vaughan a hard hit 30 before veteran seamer John Whiting took four wickets.The 3rd team continue their unbeaten start setting them up for a huge clash at also unbeaten Mudeford next Saturday.

Only Dan Friedman (62) and Glyn Treagus (43) come to terms with the Totton & Eling attack as the first team are dismissed for just 181 in the first time game of the season.In a familiar fashion to last season the visitors get off to a flyer and stroll home by 7 wickets in under 32 overs.The second team also lose away at OT's & Romsey with a poor fielding display (and the loss of the new ball after just 9 overs) allowing the home side to amass 247.Neil Sexton (53) and Shaun Lilley (37) top score but the target proves just too much as they finish 4 runs short.

The firts XI end the Bournemouth hoodoo with a thrilling one wicket win at Chapel Gate.Neil Thurgood (33) and Chris Jones (32) top score but nearly everyone made a telling contribution with bat and ball as Matt King and James Manning seal the victory with just 3 balls to spare chasing 201.The 2nd's slump to a defeat against Far Oak despite Neil Sexton (38) and Calum Maher (36) guiding the score to 90 for 1.A mid-innings collapse led to a well below par score of 155 on a seamer friendly wicket that got better as it dried out.The bowlers also struggled to find the right areas as the visitors strolled to victory by 6 wickets.

A superb 134 from Glyn Treagus (including 25 fours) together with 60 from Chris Jones and 36 from Dan Friedman sees the first team post 296 against Hursley who reply with 222 (Max Waller 3 for 42).The seconds secure a hard fought win at Easton & Martyr Worthy with Ross Grierson taking 3 for 24 as the home side are restricted to 188.Neil Sexton (46) and Shaun Lilley (43) put on 100 for the first wicket to help the visitors win by 4 wkts with an over to spare.

The first team suffer a heavy defeat at the Rosebowl nursery ground against HCCC Academy despite youngster Chris Jones making his maiden league fifty for the club they are unable to get near the 284 posted by the home side.The second team win again beating Hambledon by 8 wickets.Tony Robinson takes 4 wickets on debut in the SEPCL and then Richard Knowles (73no),Neil Taylor (32) and Calum Maher (28) help the home side cruise to victory.

The firsts suffer an 8 run defeat at home to Havant with James Manning making his first fifty for the club in a gallant but ultimately losing cause.The second team are also beaten at US Portsmouth despite Neil Sexton's 3 for 21 and Mike West's half century in partnership with Neil Taylor (41) as they eventually fall 28 runs short of their target.

The 1st XI got off to a winning start with an 8 wicket win at St.Cross.Kevin Nash (3-11),debutant James Manning,Paul Cass and Max Waller all with two wickets shot the hosts out for just 128.Neil Thurgood with an unbeaten 64 and Chris Jones(35) taking Bash to the brink of victory.The seconds also won by 8 wkts against Paultons with Neil Sexton playing the starring role taking 3 for 28 and then stroking an unbeaten 55.Debutant Mike West took 3 for 47 as the visitors were dismissed for 137.

Bashley (Rydal) finished runners up in the New Forest Indoor league Cup at Lymington Recreation Centre last night. In a closely fought contest, it was Fawley who eventually triumphed in the last over of the game. Bashley reached 129 chasing 135 to win. Earlier in the day, Bashley beat Hythe & Dibden comfortably in the semi-final. Batting first Bashley reached 151 and in reply Hythe & Dibden were all out for 71.

Former Bashley star Luke Ronchi hits the fastest ever century in Australian doemstic cricket. His 100 comes up in just 56 balls for Western Australia against New South Wales. He and Justin Langer add 100 in just 11 overs.
